Draft National Norms and Standards for the Treatment of Organic Waste

The Department of Environment Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF) released the Draft National Norms and Standards for the Treatment of Organic Waste for public consultation on 29 March 2021. The document specifies the allowable treatment of organic waste, including the minimum requirements for all aspects of the process.

Members of the public are invited to submit comments before the 28th April 2021. Written representation or objections to the proposed amendments should be sent to the Director General, Mr Anben Pillay by hand or by email (APillay@environment.gov.za).
